The Dingle Peninsula

Hotel ˛st·n Ceann SibČal is situated in the beautiful region to the west of Dingle where breathtaking views open up before you at every turn of the road.
This is the welcoming Gaeltacht area that stretches west to Slea Head and the Blasket Islands. The peninsula's writers are reknowned and are responsible for a rich and valuable literary heritage - a heritage that continues to be built upon. The names of writers from the Great Blasket are recognised worldwide and their work has been translated into many languages: Tom·s ˛ Criomhthain, Peig Sayers, Muiris ˛ S™illeabh·in and P·draig Ua Maoileoin.
This is fertile country with mountains and beautiful beaches. Many relics from the pre-historical era can be seen in the area e.g the beehive huts, the fort in Fahan, Ogham stones in Burnham, Christian sites such as Gallarus Oratory, Rathanan Castle, Gallarus Castle.

- You can visit the Great Blasket Island Centre in Dunquin, which is open from March to October. The centre provides a vast amount of historical information about the island and its inhabitants, has many exhibitions together with a restaurant and bookshop.
- We are near to the renowned Louis Mulcahy Pottery, where you can have a go at the potter's wheel in the visitor centre at Clogher.
- Live music is played daily in one of the local pubs or in Dingle.
- Besides the excellent restaurant in the hotel there are many other first class restaurants in the area and back in Dingle.
- If the weather is bad there are many facilites in Dingle worth visiting including the Dingle World of Leisure, which has a swimming pool, bowling alley and kids play area. Ocean World Aquarium as well as every type of craft shop
